A Special Thank you

AMIBA would like to extend a special thank you to the network of local business alliances, partners, visionaries, and, most importantly, the small and independent businesses we collectively serve. Communities persevered through the challenges of the pandemic and inflation. And, through the unique and innovative leadership of AMIBA's local business alliances, Americans and our elected officials are now hyper aware of the impact local business has on our national economy. In addition, shoppers worldwide have begun to understand that their purchasing power can make change happen locally. Increasingly, consumers demand that businesses publicly display their values, and they reward those businesses with purchases that align with their values.

During this time, we are also thinking about the message and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King. King connects the rights of all Americans to the system of economics and the injustices it imposes in ways that profoundly affect the moral consciousness of Americans through his essays, speeches, and teachings. In King's view, the American market system also propagated unemployment, discrimination, and economic injustice.
